How much of you other people see
Very little, and all of it is chosen by you:
- your display name — up to 24 characters;
- your badge — one of five embroidery emoji;
- your weekly stitch count in the league table;
- the name and emoji of a group you create, and your progress towards its shared goal.
There is no chat, no direct messages, no photo feed and no profile page. Nobody sees your email address, your charts, your photos or which patterns you stitch.
The rules
They apply to your display name, your badge and any group name you invent.
- Nothing hateful or harassing. No slurs or attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age; nothing aimed at humiliating a particular person.
- Nothing sexual or violent. This is a craft app used by all ages: keep names to the kind you would put on a piece of work you gave away.
- No impersonation. Do not pass yourself off as another stitcher, a real person, a brand or us.
- No advertising or spam. No shop names, no links, no invitation codes for anything outside Stitchkin, no repeated group creation to promote something.
- No personal data. Not yours — a name field is not the place for a phone number or an address — and never anyone else’s.
- No cheating. Counts belong to stitches actually made. Inflating them by hand, by scripts or by faking progress spoils the table for everyone in it.
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that promotes self-harm, drugs, weapons or the exploitation of children.
If someone breaks them
Report from inside the app
- A stitcher: in the league table or a group’s member list, tap the person, then the ••• button in the top corner and Report profile.
- A group: open the group and scroll to Report this group.
You will be asked what is wrong — the name, the badge, cheating, or something else you can describe in your own words — and that is the whole form. You do not have to explain yourself to us twice.
Or write to us
support@stitchkin.com, with the display name you saw and roughly when. Anything urgent — a threat, a child at risk — reaches a person faster this way.
You can also just leave
Groups are voluntary: you can leave one at any time and lose nothing you have stitched. Leagues can be switched off entirely in Settings → Leagues; your stitches then count for you alone.
What we do about it
- Every report is read by a person, and we act within 24 hours.
- Depending on what we find: the name or badge is reset, the group is renamed or removed, the account is taken out of leagues and groups, suspended, or closed. Anything illegal is closed at once and, where the law requires, passed to the authorities.
- Reports are confidential. The person you reported is told what rule was broken, never who reported it.
- Reporting in bad faith — to knock a rival out of a league, for instance — is itself a breach of these rules.
If we got it wrong
Write to support@stitchkin.com from the address your account uses and say what was removed. A human looks again, and if the decision was wrong we undo it and say so.
